  • 1/2 cup rolled oats not instant
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup fresh berries blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or almonds
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup optional, for sweetness

Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the rolled oats, almond milk, water, chia seeds, ground flaxseed, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well to ensure the seeds are evenly distributed.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and continue to cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the oatmeal reaches your desired consistency. Stir frequently to prevent sticking.
  4. Pour the cooked oatmeal into a serving bowl.
  5. Top with fresh berries, chopped nuts, and drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired. Serve immediately.
